I just purchased a '85 Ranger 350v.

The boat looks great but theres 3-4 small spots on the metal flake(top of boat) where the clear coat is peeling. The metal flake is fine just the clear coat.
They are about the size of a quarter.
I know if I don't do something it could turn into something bigger.

So what would be the best way to repair the small areas?
Could one get buy with clear finger nail polish since the spots are small?

oops!

Re: Need Advice Newbee...

welcome to i boats......

metal flake can be a real pita.......

i would think that the finger nail polish would wear off fast.....

clear coats and boat paints are many.......with out knowing exactally whats on it now.....it will be hard to advise correctly....you might even have clear gellcoat on your boat.....

i would check in to a good marine store and show them your boat .....they might be able to tell or advise what product would work the best
