I've got an '87 Mercury 60. I just had the carbs rebuilt last week, so I took it out today to do some test running. Here's how it went... I started it up and let it warm up for a few minutes. Then I slowly eased into the throttle eventually hitting 25mph at WOT. I was cruising at WOT and about a mile or so down the river a tug passed by and I slowly rode over the wake. A few minutes later the motor started bogging down and cut out. I started it back up after a few turns and tried to get going again. I couldn't get past 10mph at full throttle. It sounds like it's running in limp mode. At full throttle it sounds like it's only at half throttle.
Any ideas?
