I need some valued opinions please. Pulling trigger on 1997 searay 330. Boat has v drives, extremely clean, 700 hours on 5.7 throttle body injections motors, generator/ air/heat/windlass/camper canvas/gps cartography. Boat running strong. Dealer accepted a deal of $65,000 with a titan aluminum 33' boat trailer. What do you think?

I hope you are getting a survey on that boat. The late 90's had issues. Wet cores and stringer issues.

Re: good price for 330 searay?

Not really that knowedgable on that size boat but will add an opinion. Last winter a friend bought an older SEARAY sedan bridge up by TAMPA. Both engines are 03 PCMs 350s with very low hrs. Boat also has a new water cooled APU. Sea trip to FT. MYERS area went smoothe except for guzzling gas.
Next trip to the keys, things start going wrong in a big way. RT. engine prop shaft nut spins loose and taking on water. Engine had to be pulled from the V drive in order to get to the packing nut. At that time it is discovered the stringers under the engine mount points are rotted. Nut is tightened and epoxy poured in eng. mount area. Trip back home, nut loosens again requiring 2 pumps to keep the boat floating. Engine is pulled again a new locking prop shaft nut is installed. Now the LT. side is doing the same thing!
New APU had a recall on it, local dealer did the recall and now the gen. does not charge the batteries. Outfit that did the recall does not want to hear about it. Always has trouble with moisture under the distributer caps. Multi port fuel injection has constant water in the system. Vacume flush toilet is a constant problem as well as the macerator pump. Air conditioning condersr. pump failed. Its a boat, I could go on about the 3rd. windlass motor he installed.
Do you have a lot of money to spend? Get ready! He paid 24K plus sales tax. Boat was in the water, looked fine and sea trialed well. Got to ask, what will you need the trailer for? Just raimbling! regards FRED
