I have a 2004 9.9 4stroke that is not pumping water. Where is the pump located and how do I replace it? Is this a common issue with these motors? It has very low hours. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Well, I doubt this will help but since nobody has replied... it couldn't hurt and I would only risk looking like a fool.


I just had the same problem, but I've got an 1981 7.5hp 2-stroke. The pump/impeller is located in the lower unit. Found out my impeller was jammed. It was a relatively easy fix, and I'm not much of a mechanic.
