Engine started hard today in water, but fine on muffs.
ran great for about 1 hour ,dropped rpms to idle into harbour and engine stalled, took of cover and found fuel dripping from bottom carb from the throttle shaft the bit with the small spring on. tied up kept cranking with no luck managed to start it about 20 minutes later, any ideas why its leaking here and would this be the reason for the stall when idled.

Sounds to me like some trash between the needle valve and seat causing the carb to flood. Good place to start looking. -D

By your description I'd suspect the carb is "dumping" or running over causing the motor to flood.

It could be the needle/seat, or the float hanging up, or not floating.

I'd grab a set of needle/seats and tear down both carbs for a wash down with carb clean spray, compressed air, inspection and re-assembly.
Look over the floats and weigh them to see if the leaky one is heavy. (replace if faulty)
Set the float levels per the manual specs.
