06 murcury 60hp 4stroke bigfoot motor reving

I was on the water going 4200rpms when the motor reved to 4600
then went back to 4200 about 10 minutes later it done it again.I was on the
water For another hour afterward it did not happen again.Does anyone know
what could have caused this.

Any chance this is installed on a pontoon boat?

Pontoons + small wave + moderate turn = prop blow out/cavitation or short lose of traction
