Am considering putting a in dash Ritchie brand compass in our Larson 204 Escape Deck Boat. I also noticed in some of the ads, that they say for smaller boats, like a 16 footer. Does anyone have one of these, and if so, how do ou like it, or dis-like it ??

Thanx

this don't answer your question. but i carry a handheld back up compass for my regular onboard gps..... didn't have to drill holes in my boat for the compass but still have one was my notion.....

I bought a cheap compass. It is so worthless, I tossed it out. All I can say is bigger, heavier and well gimballed is better. Unless its electronic.

The small compasses are worthless. Get at least a Ritchie with a 4 inch card or larger. You will actually use it.
