Portable Gas Can as Permanent Tank

I was thinking about maybe using a portable tank as a permanent tank. You know, put a sender, hose to fill gas, yada yada. It will be partially or completely under the deck in the bow but it will have a hatch access.

I like to hear from anyone that has tried this or any input from the group. Im tired of hoping in the boat every time to fill one or both of the two 6 gal portable tanks I have.

just buy a moller tank with the stuff already in it.

Do not do it. Below deck or enclosed tanks need proper vent, fill, and anti-siphon valves. You can't set up protable tanks properly.
