Merc 1973 85HP Won't Start..

Hello
Please help, I have been stranded on the water, It was starting fine and running good till the last outing and would Not start to get me back in to shore.
I replaced the Fuel, New tank, Hoses and cleaned the Distributor Cap and added new plugs. It won't start, I believe its electrical, as the Plugs are getting fuel but not firing.
Any help will be appreciated in tracing down the problem through elimination.

AJ, That motor needs to have +12V on the white and red wires on the switchbox, opposite the distibutor connections. The white wire supplies +12V whenever the key is set to the on position. The red wire is always hot.

Get on the CDI Website and look up the troubleshooting procedure for your battery driven CDI ignition.

hello Chris

Thank you for the reply....Problem Solved by searching the great info on the different threads, it was a brown shorted wire on the switch Box, I would have Never, ever seen it, except for suggestions on earlier threads saying look at the wires at the switch box for shorts...
