manual tilt and trim

I have a Thundercraft with a 1977 70hp Evinrude motor with a manual tilt and I hit bottom last night and now I can't tilt the motor without pulling out the pin. This happened earlier in the year and I took it in to be repaired and they said they fixed the springs but I can't tell what could be wrong. I dont see any springs missing or being out of place. Can someone help ?

could be bent tilt pin. is the lock mechanism working?

yes it seems to be working, like I said I took it in earlier for the same problem and they said they adjusted the springs and it worked fine for a while but now it is doing it again.
