Replacing an engine

I have a 1988 maxum with a 130 hp 3.0 mercruiser. I bought an mcm 140 to put in the boat because the 130 has a cracked block. The engine will fit just fine but the throtle and forward and reverse cables don't match up and I don't see a shift interupter like the 130 has. Any ideas on how to hook it all up?

Picture would be nice. But the shift cables don't go on the engine they are on the transon plate behind the engine which is where the shift interupt switch is also. You don't have to change the transon plate to change the engine.

You don' need to change the bell housing ether. Just the motor.

The shift cables and the interupter are mounted on the valve cover on the 130. So I was wondering if I should switch the valve covers if they will fit?
