engine has been running great. was losing power while at all rpm except WOT, but cleaned corrosion off stator and cleaned power pack connections and it runs awesome--except most times idling when warm--usually problem when landing boat.
I just changed all plugs and wires, cleaned all connections, serviced stator, etc. I have good compression--so it's not spark or compression that is the issue.
When I start to 'lose' the engine, I can bump or hold in the fuel solenoid primer button/key and can usually keep it going. Sometimes, however, the motor has already decided to quit, or i need both hands to steer and change gear, etc.
I think I'm losing fuel pressure/prime some how. the lines from the tank to the motor are good. New primer ball, cut connections back and re-clamped them down to fittings, etc. Suggestions???
i think you have dirty low speed jets, if you were loosing pressure or prime, primer would not have pressure either, you need carb cleaning, and rebuild kits.
we all need to support iboats marine store when ever possible. you get, competitive prices. fast shipping, top notch customer service. also it provides us, this great FREE forum.

Any chance we're talking fuel pump here? I just happen to have a new spare. I can change it, but why waste the time if its not the pump.
Possibility could be carbs need adjusting?
I'm being quoted $500+/- to rebuild the carbs--sound right?
Ball felt soft, but confirmed proper pressure coming through so we eliminated pump problem. I reconditioned stator and cleaned all connections, put in new plugs, wires, etc. Motor ran great, but still stalled... but then...
Rebuilt the carbs. Runs like a dream. For the first time ever (3 years), I could idle in gear and slow troll for hours. Cost $500. Well worth it. Also replaced t-stats because engine was running too cold according to factory authorized mechanic.
