Hi Everyone,

Question for you, I have a 1970's Viking 9HP OB that runs ok. I got it for free and I have a couple problems. First is the attached image. That is after letting it run for about 15 mins. Also when I take it out in the water and after I'm done using it it drips Grey liquid out of the intake water ports on the leg? What do you think that is?

Second is when it runs, it will run fine for a bit and then it will miss fire for a couple mins then be fine again... odd.. Any ideas?

Any help would be awesome,
thanks for your time,
Doug

PS> Sorry its in the wrong forum... I have two outboards.. my other is a 86 Merc 8hp.... Can someone move me to the other outboards forum? Thanks and sorry about this.

I'm guessing it may be a Chrysler built motor.
I'm pretty sure what you have is normal fuel residue.Running in a barrel is messy.Adjust the low speed mixture warm in gear. adjust to best operation and go just slightly to rich.Tillotson carb mixture screw is clockwise to richen
Walbro LMB carb is clockwise to lean.
