I am new to boating I got this boat a week ago. We were out on the water and the engine started over heating. Here it was a bad impeller. I replaced the impeller got some of the old fins out. Now I get flow through the whole engine and up to the riser where the exhaust and water mix. when the engine runs i get back pressure into the water line therefore not allowing it to mix. I took the riser apart and all is clear. I also disconnected the rubber boot that the exhaust flows in and all seems clear. I am puzzled why I can get water up to the riser but once the engine is on it doesn't work. It is osco part # 1845 the boat is a 69 silverline imperal i/o with a chrysler slant 6. I belive the outboard part is a penta volvo 270 perhaps. Any help would be greatly aprreciated. I am trying to have this ready to go with me on vacation friday morning.
