I recently got 1988 Bomber Cougar 15ft fiberglass hull bass boat I think the dry weight of the boat is 750 lbs. it is rated for 4 people or 425lbs.. It also has a very shall haul. It has a 1988 Mercury 90hp 3 blade ss prop I think is a 21 pitch which seams to big to me. The person we got it from said that it took very long to plan-off. I was thinking a 19 pitch would better fit the boat.

What is prop would you all recommend?

Re: prop size question?

You need to do some testing to determine the optimum size prop.
1. What is the rated full RPM of your motor at WOT (Wide Open Throttle)?
2. What is the size of your present prop?
3. What is the RPM with your normal load at WOT with your present prop?
4. What is the condition of your present prop.
5. What is your speed at WOT with present prop using GPS?
From there some of the experts on here can help you determine what you need. Without this information it would be little more than a guess.

Re: prop size question?

I will be cleaning it up and taking it out in a few weeks. The boat has been sitting for 2 years. I will get the info required for proper prop sizing.
