1993 evinrude 60hp problem

Well, its my freinds boat, and he hasn't been able to figure out whats wrong with it.

its a 60hp w/ 3 carbs.

Pretty much what he says always ends up happening, is it won't idle and fuel runs out of the bottom carb. Is that a reed valve problem? Or s stuck needle in the carb problem? Or neither? I don't know much about outboards.

Is there an online service manual?

That bottom carb has a non-functioning float needle. Maybe it is clogged, maybe the float level is too high.

I suggest overhaul of all three, using an OEM Service manual, followed by a link 'n' synch.

so you do think its a carb problem?

Do those even have reed valves?
