I run a 1550 Mako Flats boat with a 50hp 2002 Merc 2stroke... recently I replaced the plugs, fuel filter on the engine and in the hull. There is a major hesitation when going full throttle, I can't get the engine to run smooth at more than 3400 RPMs. In the past, I would get 5100rpms. Bad gas? Dirty carbs? I have used it 4 weekends in a row, and 6 out of the last 10 weekends. Carbs were fully cleaned 3 months ago. I only own the skiff and engine for about 4 months.
