minn kota all terain, no speed adjustment

I have an older minn kota all terain trolling motor. I can hook up to battery and it will run, but there is no speed control. I can turn the five speed control on the foot control but no speed adjustment. It has 2 wires so it is a 12v system. Do I need to change this part out, and where would I get it. Thanks for any help you can give

Thanks for the info. I tested the system and it is the speed control. Only problem is that the speed controls I can find have 6 conectors, mine has 7.
I dont know if this will work or not. Thanks again
