I have a 1974 65 H.P Merck on a pontoon that I bought last fall. Finally got it in the water a few weeks ago and started enjoying it however the engine does not appear to be going completely into reverse. Can I make any adjustments to the linkage cable that might help or do I need some lower unit work? when I try to shift it into reverse it does not appear as though the cable is pushing the lever far enough back as it should be because I can manually push it farther. It does not grind bu just does not "feel like it is going into gear . Any suggestions befor it goes to the repair shop/
