what year is my now not running 75

I picked up a 61 Dorsett Catalina running a Chrysler 75. it was running fine at the lake..after runnin around a bit I engaged drive to go forward and she died...never to start again. motor has spark turns over. tried spraying some fuel in the carbs. still nothing....I dont know much about it..I checked and double checked and the model# is7573 and serial# is 4757

If it is a 75 HP it is going to need one more number like 75763. Or some letters like 757HA

I got those numbers off of a plate right in the front of the carbs under the cover. there is no letters in the model or serial? and just a 75 on the outside of the cover. that's all...any other ideas where to look? I will post a pic later today of the plate and the motor. its a 3 cylinder...3 carbs.

hey cool thanks...now I got a year...any ideas on where I should start for trouble shooting?? like I said it was running fine...no pops or sputtering..I just put it in forward and it died. and now she wont fire up! I have tried all the basics I know..I am getting spark to all three plugs...i sprayed fuel into the carbs...checked all the wires...hoses...what not. everything seems to be in order. the glass bowl on the pump stays full..the lines appear to have fuel in them...(I checked at the carbs) I know motors enough for basics but this is only my second marine motor. the other is a Lark II 40 hp...and that just fires up on the first try. any ideas of paths I should take will be much apreciated.

Good luck with that motor. I have had bad luck with mine. Now the powerhead is blown again. For is little as i ever use this thing i have replaced alot on it. Want any parts

I just might hit you up on that tom!! so just an update..my problem was the coil!!! it was throwing enough spark for a visual check but not enough to start I guess.....I tried a known good one for the heck of it and she fired up and idled on the first shot. go figure huh? thanks for all the help! I am sure I will be askin more questions soon.
