My 5.7 mercruiser is hard to start and cuts out/misses when coming out of the hole. I have to feather the gas to get it to get up to speed. Once it gets the RPMs up it will run fine but if I stop it will die and I have to start all over. Any idea what would cause this?

Welcome to the forum. :)

You will need to give a little more info on the engine than just a 5.7 liter engine. Serial numbers helps the pros. Year? Type of ignition? Carb? Fuel injection? Etc.

sorry, the engine serial # 0M074858, model MCM 5.7. Cover says it has a "Thunderbolt V Ignition. I am not sure if it if fuel injected...it looks like a carburetor but may just be the value body.
It ran fine last year. I took it ans had it winterized and the oil changed last winter. When we took it out this year it started the missing. I thought it may have been bad gas but its not. It will run once you get it up on plane but getting it there is when its cuts out. After stopping and starting a few time it will finally start running OK.

When was the last time it had a full tuneup and the fuel filters checked and changed?
