How to put fuel pump back together on 1985 8hp motor?

The model is an E8RCOB.

I have the instructions from Evinrude on the basics of putting it together, but I'm not sure it was correct the first time.

No matter how I put it back together, I can blow air through both ports. About 1/2 as much through the small one.

Anyone got the directions for this particular motor? Thank you very much. Bob

That's the one I have. It says they are different. Tried it once like they did it.

If you aren't supposed to blow any air through the smaller tube than it is wrong for mine.

The small tube is the outlet on the way to the carburetor. You are not supposed to be able to blow in air through those on any type of OMC fuel pump when assembled correctly.
