I have a 13 3/4 X15 prop and it is on a 1973 evinrude 50 hp 2 cylinder. I would like to get my RPM's up and go to a 13" pitch. iboats size some of the props at 14x13 and some other sights do too. It looks like old evinrude chart shows a 12 1/3 x 13 for this motor.

I don't have room for a 14x13 prop unless the diameter tapers back with the pitch. Would a 14x13 prop fit when a 13 3/4 only has 1/4 to cavitation plate ?

What size is recommended for this motor? It is on a Lund 16' V-bottom.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: How close can you get?

You would be getting a little close, the 14" prop would be about 1/8th inch larger than the 13 3/4 prop that has 1/4 clearance now so you would have about 1/8th clearance left, how much do the blades stretch when spinning.
