What model and which lower unit will fit?

I am looking at purchasing this boat with this motor. Supposedly the lower unit is cracked from the boat being rested on it while it was in the down position and will need to be replaced.
1) Do you know what model/years this motor is?
2) Any idea what yrs/hp sizes share the same lower unit (I want to get a used one on ebay.
3) Is that a shaft extension just above the lower unit?

What is cracked? The skeg? If the skeg is cracked, it can be repaired, is it leaking fluid? If not I would say it can be repaired, as far as matching it up, you need to get the numbers either off the mounting bracket, or directly off the head.

Hi

This used sales pitch doesn't quite sound right to me. It is easy to weld on a skeg, and easy to break one off by hitting something. It is almost impossible to break a gear case by putting weight on it. You have to really hit most yamaha gear cases to break them. If this used motor has a broken gear case, and someone said it broke just sitting with the boat on it, I would ask a few more questions.
