Hello to all, I am new to the forums but have used them many times researching and repairing. Through my research I found out that my Johnson had a connection on the lower unit for a speedometer. I connected the tube to the lower unit to my new speedo and figured out that it did indeed work. It was just a temporary connection just to do a test. Well wouldn't you know it, when I went to take the tube off the darn plastic connector broke off. What can I do to fix my little issue. I know I can go out and by a pitot tube for the transom but I want to avoid having to screw things into the boat. Does anyone know how to fix this?

you either go to a dealer and get a replacement part, or you drill the transom, and seal the screws with 3m4200.

Ok I guess my question is how do I replace the part, do I have to remove the whole lower unit to do this or is it a push pull type part?
