Re: gear lube monitor hose

I was looking at your other post earlier and never posted to it. But, you have a 91 boat, are you sure you have a Gen II drive. The reason is, the Gen II drives didn't have gear lube reservoirs. That didn't happen till 93 or 94 (I think). Some of the older Alpha I drives (90 and earlier) had reservoirs attaced to the outside of the drives, you said something about top in your other thread. Got some pictures of your setup?

Re: gear lube monitor hose

I have a 1998 boat Don. definitely alpha one Gen two. I believe my problem is something to do with this hose connection at the top of the drive. I have looked at the tech manual but I was hoping you might be able to give some advice as to possibly correcting a bad connection of this hose. My boat is on davits so I would have to have it hauled out to remove the drive. But the water is shallow enough to work under boat. I don't have a trailer so I am trying to save a few bucks.
