Anyone with any advice on painting an aluminum boat?

Yep.

A litle reseach, on this board would net the same response. I'm being generous today.

1. Sand it down using 220 grit paper as your final.

2. Wash the whole thing with a 50/50 solution of whte vinagar and water.

3. Prime "bare metal" with Zinc Chromate primer.

4. Apply a good primer (NOT HOME DEPOT). (Interlux/Pettit)

5. Finish with the color coat, of your choice. I prefer Interlux One Part Epoxies. Pettit makes the same.
