A friend's boat backfires a couple of times on acceleration from idle to plane. It's a '99 4.3 Volvo I/O in a Glastron 175, with low hours since new. He had the carb cleaned by a professional shop, replaced the fuel filter. The temp gauge goes to only 120? F on plane, so a new stat & gasket is on the way.
I wanted to check timing, there's a white line on the pulley and a single mark cast in the block. Is that a 10? BTC mark?
