Vacuum Hose Spring.

I have been waiting almost 3 weeks for parts to come in at my dealer only to discover they did not order this part for me. I am looking at a way of making it or using something else to do the same job. It prevents the vacuum hose between the fuel pump and crankcase from collapsing. Part No. 315942
Anyone done something like this before?
I just want my boat on the water this weekend as it has been sitting for 2 weekends now!

Off hand, I would think that if you go to an auto parts store and buy a piece of fuel hose suitable for today's fuel injected cars it will be stiff enough that it won't be collapsing. Unless the problem is that it is bent so sharp that it kinks. Then you may have to get a longer piece and re-route it with gradual bends.

I actually just came across a cat toy that has a long spring that will do just the job.
