I have a 1996 125 that has an occasional High Speed Miss. It has a new switch box and regulator. When it misses, bringing it back to idle and then to WOT a couple of times will clean it up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Mercury 125 High Speed Miss

First thing that comes to mind is a drop of water in one of the carbs, blocks fuel flow through the main jet, when you slow down intake vacuum reduces the drop rolls off the jet and you take off again.

Pull the float bowl drain plugs and pump the primer bulb to flush them out. Adjust the trim angle such that the bowl drain is nearest the lowest poiint when draining/flushing. Catch the runoff in a pie tiin or a fuel absorbent cloth. You may notice a bead of water come out with the fuel. If so, consider installing a water seperating filter to prevent this from happening again soon.
