67 super sea horse flooding out please help

I have a 67 40 hp sea horse electric shift motor that keeps flooding out when run at idle speeds...when run wide open i have no problems.. rkl-29 is the model number...after it floods out if i leave it set for 10 min it starts up fine and runs for while again. the carb was rebuilt by a local shop this year...any help or advise would be great

take it back to the shop that rebuilt the carb. sound like the float is either sunk or the float valve is stuck open.

Maybe it isn't really "flooding out"? Are you sure? Many carburetor problems aren't carburetor problems at all.

I have noticed fuel in the "engine bay" area dont know if that the correct term or not and I can smell fuel also but see no leaks such as lines or fittings
