I have a 2005 v215 sanger 350 merc crusier and i am trying to change the oil. I have taken the drain line and ran it through the hole in the rear. I have taken the fitting off of the drain line but no oil is comming out. Is there some kind of petcock or valve i need to turn. If so i cant find it.

Re: oil change

Probably a worthless and rhetorical question but, is there oil IN the engine?

I guess this is a "did you check the dipstick" question....

If you are sure you have oil in the engine, did you see any oil in the bilge? In other words, are you SURE you have the drain connected?

The drain line you attached, could you explain this further? Could it be kinked or when you put it thru the rear drain of the boat, is it getting squeezed too tight to allow the oil to drain?

Usually, you get the kit that attaches to your drill that pumps the oil out where the dipstick is....
