Merc 850 wiring questions ??

I have a 1974 Mercury 850 and I'm wanting to replace my 1974 Mercury 650 with the problem i have is the plug on my control box is different,

Whats the easiest and cheapest way to fix this ???

I want to go from this To This one round one

The cheapest method is to get wiring diagrams for both motors, see if they are compatable, create a cross connect plan, cut off both plugs and butt splice the wires.

The best plan is to pick up an 850-1500 inline wiring harness and install it into your control.
