What maintanance is mandatory before i try to start this thing?Also the s-# babj-1200636.What year is this thing?

Change the oil for sure and maybe even the impeller because of not being used I would think that there will be a perminent set in the vanes. After you get it running with FRESH gas, maybe think about the gear oil.
Hopefully there was no gas left sitting in the carb to dry our, if so you will probably need to take it apart and clean it up.

Hey merkur....Maybe you can track it down this way: First, where your motor hooks to the transom, there should be a Honda Motors plate staring at you. Use that number instead of the one you posted. Mine is like "BABJ-1502 blah blah blah". Go to www.boats.net and click on Honda OEM parts. Then click on Outboard Motors. This will get you to a screen that will allow you to identify with that Honda number. Hope this helps...Bob
