Default Loss of power above idle 90 yamaha 115

I ahve a 90 115 that when i took off from a hole the other day its bogged down about 5 seconds after planing off. It will run about 2000 rpm WOT and will surge up if you flick the choke switch on and off.. Im led to belive i have a fuel starvation issue. I havent ever cleaned the carbs and am leary of getting the mixture off if i do. Any suggestions? I run seafoam aboput every 3rd or 4th tank. Comp. is good 120-125 on all. New bulb and hose. cleaned filter screen. Thanks

Installing new carb kits is never a bad idea, espesially if the carbs have never been cleaned.

Have you tried pumping the bulb when it bogs?
Is the bulb hard or soft?
Have you checked spark?

It could be a fuel issue or it could be a link n sink issue...

As far as i know the only thing the carbs have never been off of the motor but its 18yrs old and ive only had it a few months. Its gas was old and i siphoned it out and add seafoam and changed the plugs and fuel line but other than that it was in good shape just had set up a year. fuel was stabilized i believe as it was dead smelling. It has run ok for the few months ive had it but the last couple of trips it has stalled out a time or two and when i tried to pull up a skier a few weeks ago it was dragging to get him up not the case in april or may. I didnt check the bulb as it did it and i skipped out on the last fishing hole and turned into the launch and went home and didnt attempt to push my luck as i was afaid of leaning it out and toasting the powerhead.

The next time you are out and it bogs down try pumping the bulb. If it picks up and runs good then you may have an issue with the fuel pump. If it goes flat and will not inflate then you may have debris blocking the pickup tube, or gas tank not venting properly.

If you take a gas tank that is not venting properly and the heat of the summer you will get fuel that vaporizes in the fuel line before it gets to where it needs to be. This will create a vapr lock starving the engine of fuel and bogging it down. This could be why it ran good during April and May(cooler). Easiest way to test this theory, run it without the gas cap off.

Had the same problem with mine had to have carbs rebuilt and a new fuel pump but on a good note it runs like new now. mine had set up a lot before I bought it ,ran good a few times then it would not pull off trailor. Mine would run perfect on the muffs but put it in the water and no power unless you choked it and it would run for a minute or two and bog. Good luck
