Help With What Year Motor You Have

I'm not sure if this post belongs on this forum page so I'll let the moderator decide that....Tash..???

I see a lot of posts on this site where people are trying to find out what year their motor is and as for Evinrudes, I found the year of my motor by going to the link below.

It took a little investigation to find it because you MUST know what model you have when you go to this site and you can usually get that number by looking at the plate on your motor that shows your model number and serial number.

I looked for mine on this site (E225TXERK) and found out that my motor was a 1994 Ocean Pro. My boat is a 1995 and searched for it under the 1995 motors but eventually found it in the 1994 numbers. Of course I have a new power head that was put on before the I bought the boat but it still gave me all the information I needed and it even gives pretty good drawings and schematics in relation to my motor.

there are several sites, my favorite is http://www.outboardbooks.com/. you have to have the model # in order to determine year on any of the sites. there is also the introduces system for newer motors.
