I have an 89? 3.7l/LX 190hp Mercruiser.
When throttling down to around 3-4 kts (approx. 1900 rpms, which is what the boat idles at when in neutral), the engine will stall out (probably 90% of the time). It also stalls out when I quickly drop it into neutral, most of the time. Then, in an attempt to re-start, it?ll turn over quickly without firing until I give it a ton of gas.
I?m wondering if this could be a gas issue (gunked up gas lines or the need to rebuild the carb) or a cable issue (stretched out, micro switch, etc)?any opinions out there?
Another issue, which I?m not sure if it?s related, is that at times when throwing it in neutral, the prop keeps spinning. I need to throw it in reverse to stop the forward movement.
