I have a late 1970"s 85 HP Johnson and need to replace control cables. It is on a 27' Rivera Cruiser Pontoon. How difficult is this process?

Re: Johnson Control Cables

It depends on the access that you have to the cables. Generally it is not to difficult. If you know the length of the cables you need to replace you can usually tie the new cables to the old ones and pull them through. If you need to measure the old ones tie a wire to them to help you pull the new cables in place before you take the old ones out. Without some type of fish wire some of them are nearly impossible to get through the channels, especially if there are several other wires in the way.
