98 SPL 115 Tach goes to up to 4K then goes backwards?

Anyone seen this problem? My tack works normally on start and acceleration but at about 4K is starts going in reverse as I increase the throttle. Don't know if it's related but the tilt guage has also started acting up. Running at normal plane and the tilt meter will suddenly go to full up tilt. Any suggestions would be appriciated.
Stator is putting out 14 VAC @ 1200 rpm, Rectifier diodes check ok and but only reading about 13.2 vdc at the battery.

Anything done to the boat recently?

Pulled the dash off to inspect the gauge cluster wiring?

Having the PTT gauge pinning to the full up position indicates that the sensor "S" terminal of the gauge is suddenly being grounded at that point.

Only thing thing done recently was a new seat. Pulled the right side lounge seat and screwed a pedistal seat to the floor. Nothing done to the gauges.

Could possibly be a bad rectifier, if the tach is acting sporadically

The diodes read normaly on my Fluke meter but I plan on testing the rectifier under load at full RPM to see what I'm getting. I suppose it's possible it's breaking down at higher RPM.
