Well....Cleaned and rebuilt the carbs on my 2000 40D last night. Everything is looking pretty good but its still a little hard to start after shutting it off, I need to choke it or give it some gas to get it started....

I adjusted the mixture screw out 1 1/2 turns on each of the 3 carbs. I tried 1 turn out but didn't see a difference between 1 turn and 1 1/2 so I left it there and launched the boat. I had to mess with the idle screw a little bit but want to make sure i'm at a good starting point before I mess with it anymore.....

Would also like to know what my idle should be, right now i'm getting 1K in neutral and 800 in Gear at idle....Thanks for any info.....Warren

P.S....I would have the manual but can't afford to fork out the $100 right now...Been waiting for a used one on ebay for a long time with no luck.....

Re: Tohatsu 40D Carb Settings Needed

Appreciate the info.....My outboard model # says Year 2000 M40d2, would that be the same as the NS40D2?......I wish I had a way to adjust the carbs at home but I can't figure out a way to dunk the lower unit, I have to take it to the nearest ramp and its saltwater......
