I have a Evinrude lift cylinder for a 115hp that I am rebuilding, My question is on the bottom of the piston it uses 2 plastic rings one on top of the oring and one on the bottom. I am having a problem with the plastic rings wanting to roll out while I am pushing the piston back into the cylinder, it appears the threads on top of the cylinder are what catching the plastic rings so I coated the threads with assembly lube and while pushing the piston in I was turning it but no luck. What am I doing wrong?
