I just rebuilt the transom on my boat (fiberglass hull) used okoume marine plywood, epoxy resin etc. However as i was layering on the coats and took my final measurements I'm 2 3/8" thick, the original transom was 2 1/4" thick. I need a motor head to tell me if this is going to screw up the mercruiser 140hp stern drive engine lining up or not. Is there a maximum thickness? I'm a carpenter by trade not a mechanic.... need reassurance I didn't go to far. I just wanted to make sure I had a good thick seal on the wood.

I also have pictures to post in the project area, but have not idea how. I'l be ready to put the cap back on the boat tomorrow so I can finish the deck. Thanks in advance!
