Friends,
This is my first experience with owning a mercury outboard and I was wondering if the lower unit was right and working correctly. When shifting from nuetral to forward/ reverse it is quite loud. I am very used to my old johnson not making any noise when shifting into gear. After it is in gear there are no strange or grinding noise from the lower unit and the engine pulls fine. OR should I be told welcome to the world of Mercury.

Not sure what you mean by "noise", but they all clunk when you put them in gear.
