When I shift my 1973 Evinrude into neutral, it seems to remain slightly engaged in the forward gear, well after the effects of the forward momentum should have worn off. To counter this, I can click past the neutral stop point on the remote, and into reverse. This brings the boat stop and then I can then click back into the neutral position and stay still. Is there some type of linkage adjustment that I can make to ensure that the engine is truely in neutral when the remote is put into that position?
