I have the 1979 mercury 40 HP which now runs great. It only has the manual tilt on it (clamp on motor) and I wanted to to put a power trim and tilt on it. I want to know if I can use one of the new universal types such as CMC or if I would have to sue a mercury one. And if Merc, which one would I need? Don;t want to buy from a dealer as too much $$ so would look at auctions if I need a Merc one. Any help is appreciated guys.
