My Speedifour has been running great but lately it surges or hesitates when throttled up or down slowly. At WOT it screams along nicely. Today however I noticed the power dropped and #4 spark plug was wet with fuel; the others are tan and dry. Compression is 85-90 psi on all four. I put spark testers on all four and it indicated all wires are sparking. Wiggled all plug wires and switched the plugs on #2 and #4. After a short run, #4 was wet again and the wet plug that I put in #2 was looking good.
I haven't looked past the wire since the other ignition parts also serve #2 and it's fine. Testing the wire for continuity shows no problem. Could it be arching somewhere? The wire itself looks fine, the same as the others.
During this troubleshooting the threaded end came off #3 wire. Can this be reattached or is a new wire or connector required?

Found the problem. Crud in starboard high speed jet. I guess the port side was flooding when I put the throttle down making it appear that side wasn't firing properly. It gave me the opportunity to go over the wires and make some improvements on the contacts. The spark plug contact is stabbed through the wire and it looks like arching causes a bit of a build-up on the contact where it meets the wire.
She's screaming again like it should.
