I purchased a 2003 70hp Yamaha outboard 2-stroke, oil injected, a couple of months ago. It runs GREAT, efficient, and smooth. While adjusting the throttle linkage I noticed a wire harness that wasn't connected to it's mate, and when I plug it in the alarm sounds at the controls. It's apparent that the harness was disconnected by the previous owner to stop the alarm, but the motor runs fine. Anything you can tell me to check?

I wonder how many wire colors there actually are ?

Pulled the level indicator out of the oil reservoir and checked it for operation. When I slid the float all the way up the shaft or down the shaft, the alarm sounds, but does not sound when in the middle. Didn't notice the number of wires or colors.
