Friend has an Evinrude 90 HP FICHT outboard Serial # G04630817 and Model # E90FPLEEC(hopefully correct here as hard to read). Motor is a 1999 model.
Problem 1: Motor will not trim or tilt at all and if you back out the manual release screw counter clockwise 1 to 1 1/2 turns you cannot manually tilt the motor even. Are we mssing something or is there something else we need to do to raise it manually?
Problem 2: Motor has power to the circuit board but no power coming out of it. The motor will not turn over nor will the trim/tilt work. If we remove the main power plug in from the circuit board and jump a wire over to the power out wire, bypassing the circuit board, the motor will turn over fine and run perfect but the trim/tilt does not work. Is it possible the circuit board has failed? All the relays test out fine as do all the fuses.
This all happened fairly suddenly that he lost the trim/tilt and power to start the motor.
Any help be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
