Am I setting up this transom saver correctly?

I only have about a 10 minute drive to the lake I usually go to, and I was using my tilt lock bracket to hold the motor up on the way, but this thread

convinced me to get a transom saver. Saw a cheap one & picked it up, but it did not come with instructions. Not that it's a very complicated setup, but I'm just wondering if I have the V-shaped motor end in a good spot-- in that channel in the lower unit (see pics). It doesn't line up great there, but it seems to be the most natural spot to put it.

Most of them are set to be below that where the entire motor will set down in that v-block.
Also, take a small rubber strap and go around the motor and secure it to the transom saver.
Hit a bump and motor comes up and there goes transom saver.

Thanks SpinnerBait!

Yeah, I know about the strap, I just didn't attach it in those pics while trying on different spots.

Put the V lower on the motor and trim it down more.

Hey Mike, I think I just bought that exact saver and have what looks to be a similar motor. Used it for the first time last week and was very happy with how it worked out. Agree with haulinbass that you should put it one section lower on the motor's lower unit.
