OK, I know for some people include myself, inflatable is the cheapest boat to get us on the water to have some fun, with our OWN boat. I look around this forum alittle and seen some terms I don't understand, and I'm sure some people here (new) might have the same problems.

So can we trow up a list of stuff with what the are, and a breif description.

Like: STERN - rear of the boat
BOW - Front of the boat
Plane - ??? (see what I mean, not the one that fly lol)

I think here's a basic list: I post the link so the site will have credit for it also.

plane is when the boat gets on top of the water, vs pushing the water.

starboard, right side when looking from the rear (stern)
port, left side when looking from the stern.
Gunnel, the top of the side
Deck the floor. boat do not have floors.
transom, the back of the boat where the motor mounts.

Inflatable slang ....
pontoon - the tube of the inflatable
highjacker - and extra inflatable tube under the main tube, to give lift to the inflatable
Valve - link where you inflate your inflatable
RIB - ridgit inflatable boat
Nosecone - fiberglass front nose on some inflatables
Hogging rope - the grab rope that is on top all around the tubes
